Annual Women’s History Month Program

The theme of our ceremony is “Students Achieving Today – Our Leaders of Tomorrow.” During the ceremony, we will recognize outstanding female students attending our Essex County Schools of Technology School District and Essex County College. Receiving the Essex County Althea Gibson Leadership Award will be Farida Salley from the Essex County Donald Payne, Sr. School of Technology, Jordyn-Rose Mercado from Essex County West Caldwell School of Technology, Rosibel Marinez from Essex County Newark Tech School of Technology, and Xiomara Rivera from Essex County College. These remarkable young women are achieving academic success, contributing to their school and local communities, and show promise to become leaders in the future.

A VIP reception before the ceremony will be held as follows:

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon in the Lobby of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice Building.
