Join us at the beginning of the March 3rd Maplewood Township Committee Meeting to take our annual photo to honor the Suffragettes who fought for the right of women to vote.

The suffragette movement’s impact was transformative, securing women’s right to vote (the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution), empowering women into public life, developing new protest tactics, and paving the way for broader civil rights movements, though its initial successes often focused on white women, leaving racial and class inequalities for later movements to address. It fundamentally challenged traditional gender roles, bringing women into politics and the workforce, and establishing a foundation for future feminist activism and greater gender equality.
